Seniors - Honor Graduates

Seniors: Honor graduate list are now available. Copies have been given to teachers of seniors. There is also a list posted in the door of the main office and in the counselor’s office. Honor Graduates are students with a 4.0 cumulative GPA (based on Caddo combined enriched/general scale) plus 5% of the remaining graduating class. This year, the cut off GPA is 3.8958. Cords will be available for purchase beginning Tuesday April 24th in the counselor’s office. The cost is $8 (cash only). Honor cords will be issued at the senior awards ceremony on May 2nd to seniors who have paid for them prior to the ceremony. Students who currently do not meet honor graduate qualifications, but do so after final grades are determined may purchase a cord at that time, if available. Contact Ms. Sampson if you have any questions.
Coaches vs. Cancer 5k Run/Walk

Byrd High School and the American Cancer Society have teamed up to organize the 1st Annual Coaches vs. Cancer 5k run/walk. The 5k will be hosted by Byrd High School on May 19th. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society for cancer research and help their fight to find a cure for cancer.

Freshmen Cheer tryout clinic will be held June 19th-20th from 8:30-10:30a.m. in Byrd's Gym. Tryouts will be April 21st at 8:30a.m. in Byrd's Gym. Candidates will be charged a $10.00 clinic fee payable the first day of clinic. Intent to run forms are due by June 14th. Please read the Freshman Cheer Packet for information regarding eligibility, intent to run forms, and parent meetings.

Info: Any boy or girl interested in running cross country in the Fall of 2012, needs to meet in the library after school on Wednesday for a 30 minute meeting.
Senior Graduation

Date: May 25th @ 7:30pm
Info: Graduation will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center. The Ceremony will be professionally videotaped by Adams Productions. Copies of the DVD will be available for purchase. Order forms are available in the counselor’s office. Order forms will also be available at graduation. The cost is $20 per DVD.
