African American Studies Club
Astra Club - Mrs. Prothro needs volunteers to act as paparazzi for the Robinson Film Center’s Awards Night on Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Centaur parade is that same night. Do not sign up if you are planning to go to the parade. Sign up in Mrs. Prothro’s office.
Astra Club Members – We will be collecting items for GeauxBags.org. These are essential items needed when a child is taken from their home into foster care. Each child is given a bag of items. The items needed are listed by grade level. Please bring your items to Mrs. Prothro’s office by Thursday, February 28th. All members are being asked to participate. You may bring more items if you choose. Three items count for one hour of community service.

Drama Club – Do you want to be a STAR? Join Byrd Drama Club. Stop by Mr. Williams’ Room (Main Building 200) to get a Drama Club Form. Return it with your dues! You may also print a form at www.byrddrama.weebly.com and pay your dues online at www.payforit.net.
The Byrd Drama Department needs your help! We are launching our Winter Fund Drive with our 100 at $100 deal! We’re looking for 100 individuals or small businesses or clubs to donate $100 to help keep Byrd Drama alive! We are on the bubble, and without the help of our friends and families, we are very close to not being able to produce shows anymore, because production costs have continued to rise. If you or anyone you know is able to help, please make a donation through our website. All 100 at $100 donors will be listed on a special page in our next program. Ducks Unlimited Club
Ducks Unlimited Club will meet in T-11 on the first Tuesday of the month during EIP. If you are interested in joining, please see Coach Ballew.
FCA - Anyone interested in joining FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) needs to pick up an application from the girls PE office or Coach Wilkerson. This is not just an athletic club – ANYBODY can join! Come out and see what it is all about. First meeting will be held in the learning center during EIP.
French Club t-shirts are on sale for $20. They can be purchased online (French Club t-shirts) or in Ms. Matkins room (room 114). Either way come by Ms. Matkins room (114) to give her your size.

Growing for Good- Do you want to learn more about healthy living while attending fun, free classes like those offered at a local gym? Well now you have the chance! The Growing for Good club at C. E. Byrd High School to hear from professional speakers around our community about specific ways to improve your life. We also offer the chance to learn about agriculture and sustainable food growth in our very own on-campus greenhouse! We aim to produce vegetables throughout the year that we will deliver to local food pantries in our community. We want YOU to be a part of the change for a better, healthier lifestyle by donating through payforit.net!

Lyle Leaders 9-11th Grades – Any student interested in attending Louisiana Youth Seminar this summer needs to email Mrs. Prothro at MProthro@caddoschools.org. We are not sure of the cost at this time, but registration will open February 14th. The dates are July 14-19, 2019. Go to www.louisianayouthseminar.org for more information. The Lyle Leader fund will try to pay partial tuition for the students who attend.

In order to be eligible for membership in National Honor Society, you must be a member in good standing in three Byrd organizations. One must be a service club and one must be an academic club. Your third organization may be a service or academic club, any other club, or a Byrd sports or spirit group.
