The Byrd Swim Team swam a great meet at Centenary on Wednesday. The girls team came away with another TEAM WIN with top 5 finishes by Lillie England, Grace Carter, Marina Klein, and Caroline Carberry. The Medley and Freestyle Relays also finished 3rd and 5th overall! The boys team finished in 6th place overall with only 2 swimmers - Cameron Bradford and Gergley Szarvas. Both boys finished in the top 5 in all their events. To date, eight swimmers have qualified for the High School State Meet. The next meet is a new event for BYRD SWIM - a Byrd/SHREVE Dual Meet October 29th @ LSUS! Come out and see BYRD Swim in action!!
Great job by everyone during the SY 2019-2020 Corps and Brigade Commanders Board. A special thanks to our Superintendent for attending and participating in the board. This was an extremely competitive board! Students did a wonderful job writing essays, taking the exam and briefing during board procedures! Congratulations to each Cadet Selected for Brigade Command! We plan to promote these students at the School Board Meeting on November 5th.

Congratulations to Camryn Orr, Brandon Tucker, Madison Tynes, and Brooke Wilson who were chosen as regional finalists in the Songbook South High School Vocal Competition: Great American Songbook Edition 2019. They will participate in a vocal intensive with Broadway star/voice over artist, Naz Edwards and renowned Jazz pianist, accompanist, orchestrator, composer and so much more, Russ Kassoff to be held at the Hurley School of Music at Centenary College, Saturday, September 21st at 7p.m.

They competed against students from all across the nation. Byrd boasts 4 of the Louisiana’s only 5 winners, and we are so very proud of them.
