Several Byrd freshmen competed in the Lafayette Open last weekend as part of a USA wrestling team of Northwest La Warriors. Led by coach Mark Yawn, Bailee Creasey finished 1st, Demitri Teddlie and James Rushing 2nd, Jacob Blaze Yawn 3rd, Logan Lewis and Lee Bledsoe 4th. These young men helped their team to a impressive 3rd place finish of 26 teams from all over the state, with almost 70% win ratio of over 100 matches. The only other 2 teams who finished higher had a combined 30 matches. We  compete again this Saturday morning starting at  9am at the Centenary Gold Dome. Come out and support them if you can!!!
