This past weekend, David Chu, Cameron Guillory, Kyla Pugh, and Amarige Yusufji participated in the Louisiana High School French Clubs Convention (ALCFES) in New Orleans. They spent most of Saturday in the French Quarter on a scavenger hunt to discover historical clues about the famed neighborhood. On Sunday, C.E. Byrd French Club was awarded 3rd place (out of 16) for the scrapbook and banner competitions. David Chu was awarded a scholarship to study in Perpignan (France) next summer. Special thanks to parents: Mrs. Guillory for volunteering her time and money to chaperone our group over the weekend and Mrs. Chu for providing help with last minute necessities. Special thanks to students: Eden Dennis for volunteering her time to lead and supplying materials to the scrapbook team and Hannah Jackson for lending her artistic talent to create a real work of art (banner). These students have gone far beyond expectations.
