Seniors – Harrington House will be here to take Cap & Gown pictures on Tuesday, March 6th, from 7:30 am until 9:00 am in the Learning Center. You will only be able to take a picture if you have your packet and money with you! Click here for the order form; hard copies will be passed out on Friday, February 23rd.
WorkKeys Testing – Qualifying seniors will be completing WorkKeys Testing Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, February 27, March 1, and March 2. A testing schedule has been sent to teachers. Students should check with teachers for the dates and time they are scheduled to test. Students will be called out of class for a brief pretest session on Monday. See Ms. Eason in the counseling office if you have questions.

ATTENTION JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS : The Cinderella Project of Shreveport, will host its 6th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway at Ayers Career College on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Flyers are in the counselor’s office. Please see your counselor for proof of enrollment form if interested.
March 2018 Statewide ACT: The ACT will be given to all 11th grade students and any senior who has never taken the ACT on Tuesday March 20, 2018. Seniors with a highest ACT composite within the range of 15 to 20 are also eligible to re-test. Contact Penny Eason at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or concerns or to verify that you are on the testing roster if you are a senior. All 11th grade students will be scheduled to test.
Students and Parents of Seniors – Beginning with this year’s graduating class, each senior is required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or have a parent or guardian certify in writing a waiver if he refuses to complete the application. The FAFSA application is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please see Mrs. Byrd in the counseling office if you will not be completing the FAFSA and would like a waiver. One of these steps is required in order to graduate.
Seniors – The FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is now available at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Step by step instructions are available in the senior orientation packets students received. The FAFSA is the preferred TOPS application, as well as application for PELL grants and student loans. Seniors must complete the FAFSA in order to graduate, or complete the TOPS online application or submit a waiver.

Seniors – transcripts are now available. If you need to request a personal copy, or send one to a college, please complete the request for transcript form available in the counseling office. Cost is $5. Remember that you do not have to send transcripts to Louisiana public universities (LSU, Tech, etc.) They have access through the statewide student transcript system.
Seniors – if you need a letter of recommendation, you must submit your student questionnaire/resume two weeks prior to your deadline. Information is available in the counseling office.
Seniors - If you are on free or reduced lunch, you can take the ACT for free, and receive free online test prep. See Mrs. Byrd in the counseling office.
Senior Party: If your child would like to be a host please mail $100 made payable to Catherine Laborde along with your child’s email address to 654 Unadilla, Shreveport, 71106. Any payments made before February 21st will allow your child to vote on the theme for the party. Anyone needing payment arrangements made in order for your child to host please email Catherine Laborde at email@example.com. The $100 host payment covers the venue, food, decorations, your child’s name listed as a host on the invite, invitations, security and the D. J. There will be a small costume fee that will be determined depending on the number of hosts signed up. Students may earn a Community Service Diploma Endorsement by completing a total of 80 service hours during high school. Information can be found at http://www.louisianabelieves.com/courses/diploma-endorsements. Seniors need to submit the Student Documentation Form and District/School Tracking Form to Mrs. Byrd in the counseling office by Monday, March 5th to receive the endorsement.
C.E. Byrd's 10th Annual College and Career Fair will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6-7:30 pm. There will be colleges in attendance from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama. Military Branches will also be in attendance.
